How would the economy be if America wasnt in debt with its self?

America is in debt to its citizens. They buy Treasury Bills that finance the government and then the government pays them back with interest. Its called a ponzi scheme and its actually illegal with any private business, but the government does it. The  fact that Americans earn pretty decent interest off this is good for the economy. America being in debt to itself is not that big of a deal for now.
