How would the world be different had vehicles never been globally accepted?

If the argument today is that they guzzle gas, and gas is a root in the financial issues in the world, and occasionally creates wars, WHY? Maybe cars were just never meant to be. Because according to many people such as liberals or enviromentalists they are just harming the earth and ruining the atmosphere, and life itself?

What would you do if we didn't have cars? How do you think the world would be different had they never been globally accepted?

  1. We would all be waist deep in horseshit.

  2. I am not sure being a "liberal" is a bad thing, and clearly has some kind of different meaning to you Americans. Anyway, whatever the point is you are trying to make, the fact is that fossil fuels do cause environmental damage and most serious scientists accept this view. But the benefits it has given us over the years are undeniable. Not just oil, but natural gas and coal have all helped get us where we are today.

As for a world without cars, there are still many people in the world who have never seen a car. More than half the population of the planet have never seen a telephone, and the majority have never heard of Jesus. In light of this, I think life without a car comes naturally to most human beings, and those who have never encountered one would find life with a car unbearably stressful, not to mention expensive.

  3. life as we know it would be much simpler to live and much cheaper.

  4. We Were much better off; who needs all these crazy people driving around erratically; it reminds me of a bunch of "bugs" in the Kitchen, when someone turns the light on....!!

  5. We'd be living a lot closer together, concentrating in big cities. The tourism industry would be practically non-existent. Many of the advances in agriculture, technology, medicine or standard of living would not be possible without the personal automobile. Look at countries where the automobile is either just being accepted or has not been accepted (i.e. unaffordable), to see what life is like.

Humans were given a brain to be curious with,  invent things and attempt to better their lives. Because of their supreme intelligence above the animals, humans are able to survive as a very successful species. Along with this comes the negative aspects such as damage to the environment. But humans adapt and learn (we hope). if God wanted humans to not harm the environment, he would have mad humans dumb as animals. And we wouldn't be having this conversation then. We'd be scrounging for food, and pooping everywhere like our wild animal friends.

  6. We'd all have blisters on our feet.

  7. I think the world would have been more physically fit.  Everyone would have either walked or rode bike's everywhere...
