How would this look as an interesting tattoo?

Ok this requires a little background info...I loove Halloween, pumpkins, fall, everything to do with the changing of seasons from summer to autum. I also adore literary genius in all it's darkest forms. Originally, I wanted the entire poem The Raven by Edgar Allen Poe tattooed across my back. Since I dont have enough skin for that, I was considering this pic http://s534.photobucket.com/albums/ee344/madhatter8271/?action=view&current=scarecrow.jpg with the word Nevermore either curved across the top or the bottom. I adore this pic but am curious as to how others think it would look. If I get it, I want it between my shoulder blades.

  1. Wow. I actually think that's a great idea. I wish I could come up with something as creative but meaningful as that for my next tattoo. It would really be a nice touch to have the words done out in a gothic script. And definitely curve it over the top, it creates a better aesthetic effect. The only suggestion I'd make is to see if a raven instead of the pumpkin looks just as good. But otherwise, you've really embraced what a tattoo is supposed to be.

  2. I think it looks nice. But you should maybe add a little color. I would also incorporate a raven in the picture somewhere since thats what the tattoo is based upon. GOOD LUCK!

  3. i like it! that;s what a tattoo SHOULD  be. something that means something to you, not just something dumb.  i think it would look great!

  4. In my opinion, it's too "seasonal" for something that will stay on your body in every season - even if you love Halloween. Think about this: how will the temperature/weather be during the fall season? Will you even be able to show it during fall? And how will it look during other seasons?

Simply the word "Nevermore" seems like a much classier tattoo to me - but, only my opinion. It is YOUR tattoo!

  5. Nah Dont Bother

  6. I think that's a good idea but I also agree with some of the other people that you should have a raven instead only hes on top of a skull or a pumpkin that's carved like a skull, that way you can have both the halloween theme and the edgar alan poe vibe=P.

  7. It all depends on what you are going for.  It looks like halloween.  I would always remember to pick something that you can still look at years later.  I would also pick something that has a symbolic meaning to you or that deals with someone important.

  8. this would be a great idea!

you need to do whatever you want in a tattoo...if people say you shouldn't do it, forget about them.

it's for you, and only you need to see it all the time too.

  9. If you really like that sort of stuff, then yes.

  10. omg i love it!

  11. As the proud owner of a pumpkin tattoo, I share your feelings about the splendor of fall. However, I think your picture is a little cartoon-y, which means you might not like it as you age.

Since you like the poem by Poe, why not get a raven tattoo? Ravens are thought (in spiritual symbology) to be the messengers between the spirit and human worlds. They have a mystical quality that embodies the feeling that seems to be in the air during autumn, especially at Halloween time.

  12. I like the pic...

    But talk over the placement

    with your artist...The shoulder

may be a better choice, or even

    upper thigh.....Ink on!

  13. i think it's cool but a raven and a moon would be a nice touch

  14. having "nevermore" in a picture that doesn't make sense seeing as there is no raven

however, trying to incorporate a raven into that picture would make it much too busy, too much going on.

so I'd either get that image by itself

    OR

    a raven and "nevermore"

  15. ABSOLUTLY go for ur origional idea. believe me, you have enough skin. the right artist can always find away. DO NOT listen to these ppl on answers telling you this or that. YOU said orriginally you wanted the entire poem. DO IT!! its for you, not for us. like i said, dont worry about the amount of skin, the right artist will make it beautiful, just like youre orriginal idea. years down the road, do you want to tell someone, "Look, this is a tattoo I got an idea from yahoo answers!"

    im thinking not.

    regardless

    good luck
