  1. I don't know exactly what the back of the video box looks like, but im guessing that there is a RCA [red+white] "pre-out" for a sub.

If there is a RCA Pre-Out"

    1)Get both pieces of equipment

2)Go to radio shack and ask for a "XLR Male to RCA Male Cable" (or something = to it)

3)Hook the RCA(red+white) cable into the video box and hook the XLR(3 prong thing) into the input on the sub

Plug the sub in and start adjusting the volume from all the way down.

*THE SUB YOU CHOSE HAS A BUILT IN CROSSOVER (MAKES IS SOUND BETTER)

*THE REASON THE CONNECTOR ON THE BACK DOES NOT LOOK FAMILIAR IS BECAUSE IT IS A PRO PIECE OF EQUIPMENT

*IT WILL BEAT ANY OF YOUR FRIENDS HOME THEATER SUBS

  2. You would need RCA to XLR female adapters since this is a professional sub. You could also make speaker cables that are bare wire/bananas on one end and 1/4 TRS on the other but that is probably more effort than it is worth.

As a side note I dont think that is the sub for a bedroom/home theater system. It is huge and designed for pure SPL in a professional setting. The other thing is that it does not play that low ~ 38hz @ minus 10db. It is simply not designed for what you intend to use it for.

For $500 you can get a consumer orientated sub that plays lower, looks better and will still bring the house down if asked.
