  1. It depends on whether the 400 is in degrees, grads, or radians:

    45e^-j400 grads = 45e^-j0 grads = 45 + j0 = 45

    45e^-j400° = 45e^-j40° ≈

    45cos(-40°) + j45sin(-40°) ≈ 34.472 - j28.925

    45e^-j400 rad ≈ 45e^-j4.1593 rad ≈

    45cos(-4.1593) + j45sin(-4.1593) ≈ 44.881 - j3.2639
