to date, the Homeland Security has done a very good job but it is played down or not reported by the media.  you have to dig pretty deep on the net to find it.

it is complex issue as they are really very savvy now and have lots of resources and the ability to hide themselves among the population.

it requires intel, technological surveillance, financial surveillance just to name a few, this is why it is such a monumental task but i would use all the things and more.

seem that immigration, border control, monitoring who's here beyond their visas and so many more things.

the lady that was educated at MIT is a good example of who is coming here and their intent in doing so, that would be another area to watch, education and if they are 'active' or blending in, either way.

this video in a muslims own words attempts to tell them the best way to deal with non muslims rather than terrorism, but it is still a plan for dominance in the future.

Well "ar s" the best thing to do is examine previous attacks and use varied thinking to project future attacks.  It is sad to say most terrorists in my country come from one part of the world and have a certain belief system.  By monitoring visitors to my country and correcting the illegal immigration issue would be the best approach to preventing terrorism short term.  Long term, achieve energy independence and try to be more even handed with Israel will help.  Israel must declare nuclear weapons before attacking Iran.  US is a nation of immigrants who want to build a better life for themselves and their family.  It is a shame that some abuse that trust, and moreover leaders must not sacrifice freedoms for security.

It's really simple: be tough on bad foreigners in your own country + be fair to other countries by not invading them.
