  1. Are you kidding? It's a good thing. A lot of pervs are looking to lure in 14-year-olds. If they think she's 19, then they won't be interested in her. Also, a lot of kids pretend to be older online so they get more respect. Regardless, you need to supervise her online and discuss stuff with her. Forbidding her from using the Internet won't help because she'll just use it at a friends house.

  2. you need to talk with her, its always a difficult one as you need to build your trust in each other and discuss the issue.

my son is only 10 and im not looking forward to this.

I remember when me and my sister pretended to be older on the cb radio it was considered a bit of fun at the time, but i thiknk now how dangerous it could have got...

maybe you could watch some of the documentaries on internet dangers and the sicko's out there???

  3. I would ban her from getting on. What she is doing is very dangerous.

  4. Take away the internet until she learns to tell the truth.

  5. talk to her.

  6. Tell me you don't see the potential for trouble here!  Why is your fourteen year old trying to attract someone who's looking for a 19 year old?  I think it's time someone started monitoring his/her child's internet use.  Give her a book to read or tell her to go clean her room unless you want her to end up in a headline.

  7. I would find newspaper articles, or stories on the news about young women being murdered or kidnapped, because they were meeting people and pretending to be older on the internet. I would read them with her, and just help her understand the seriousness of her actions. It isn't to scare her, but to enlighten her, to help her make more responsible decisions. I used to do stupid things like that, and to think about what really could have happened really creeps me out.

  8. put "e-blaster" on her computer & send reports to your email, you can see EVERYTHING she does & says. then if it gets out of hand or seems dangerous, talk to her & and that is dumb & dangerous, dont allow her to use the internet until she gets some brains

  9. Most computers have parental controls built in. It is obviously past time to use this feature. Until you know why your underage daughter feels it necessary to pretend to be older than she is, her access to the internet should be severely restricted. She is running the risk of being victimized by the perverts who use the internet to troll for their next target.
