Great quote.

The past is what shapes us a humans. All my experiences are in  the past and I base all of my present day decisions on my experiences. Experiences can also be revisited and reanalyzed in order to prevent from making poor decisions.

Take history as example. We learn from our past mistakes (or should) and the lessons that are learned are utilized. World War I and II we learned to...not fight a world war, established the UN and the fear of World War III looms over the head of every inhabitant on earth. These wars are also reanalyzed not necessarily for leasons but to re-live.
