  1. I agree with Poetry (?) that this question is pretty vague.  Do you mean conflict theory or social conflict theory?  Do you mean social interaction between students or between students/staff/faculty?  

    Conflict and Social Conflict Theories are inherently about power-- who has it, who lacks it.  Social interaction, to a degree, also has to do with power.  It is much harder for a low-status person to talk to a high-status person than the other way around.  

    Think about this question in terms of social interaction between the big-wig faculty and the housekeeping staff.  Do they interact?  Does the faculty member interact with the housekeeping staff the same way they interact with students/other faculty?
