  2. Open and friendly

  3. Educated.

They live to eat, not eat to live.  They pay a lot of attention to food and are more concerned with the quality of the food, not the quantity.

They have many opinions on many issues.  That is why they have several political parties, not 2 like in the US.

    Dignified and formal.

    Reserved.

    Helpful.

  4. enigmatic, fun , easy going , think haute gastronomie and wine can only be French and they are wrong.

  5. It depends on where you go. Parisians are very intersting people, they are much colder than outside of Paris. Usually, they don't smile when you make eye contact (they think it's silly) and are rather serious. They are passionate and think highly of their city and their culture. Parisians are by no means bad people, they are just different than what Americans are used to.

Outside of Paris, like in southern France like Provance, they are very friendly and warm for the most part.

I've noticed that when my French was not as good, no matter where I was they would switch to English after I struggled and were alright with it as long as I tried first (some were rude to me and ignored me). Make sure that you don't expect the French to adhere to your customs or speak your language just because you're an American and you should be fine!
