How would you close the California budget deficit of 15.2 billion dollars?

Question

what would you do if you could do anything that a state can usually do.

Is it a long term fix?

I don't live in Cali thankfully, but Texas who has a 11 billion surplus.

Just courious what would you do?

Exactly what we've been doing for years. TAX TAX TAX TAX...Just like all our problems we'll just tax our way out of this one.

Seriously, California is probably the most economically lucrative places in the country if not the world. But we experience such an immigration problem that its a strain on the on our budget to the extent that its damaging our system. I'm not against immigration and think the immigration situation actually puts more money in the pockets of Californians. But they aren't paying the proper taxes and the citizens end up paying more. This is the primary reason why we have a budget problem and until something drastic is done we will continue to have problems no matter how successful California.

I mean we have Silicon Valley, Hollywood, Gambling is coming up and Marijuana is virtually legalized (and yes the state's collecting taxes!) so there is no reason accept for the immigration issue to why we have deficit!

start by eliminating all illegals in this state, we'd save billions of wasted tax dollars right there.

Cut off all social Benefits to illegal immigrants. Make anchor baby rights retro-active at age 18. Build the wall. It cold be built across CA southern border in less than 6 months - regardless of what the media tells you. Every Plane & train and people moving vehicle would be temporarily converted to a deportation system. It CAN be done. If CA could remove 250,000 Japanese in the 1940's (who were citizens by the way) to internment camps in less than a week,  then, with todays technologies illegal immigrants cold certainly be deported. This includes the 1/3 of the California penal system as well.

Your being told that Califoirnians are a bunch of racists if they vote in favor of such a thing.

You're being lied to.

Make sure to remove - by force if necessary all of the politician who put you Californain in such dire straits.
