  1. These two fields have some degree of overlap.  Psychology covers processes and phenomena related to human behaviour, both at the INTRApersonal and INTERpersonal level.  Thus, cognitive processes of decision making and language acquisition involve the person, while conflict, outgroup bias relate to social psychology.  

    By contrast, sociology delves into the observation of a group (society) of people and how they interact with other groups and the environment.  

    All this to say -

    psychology - individual perspective

    sociology - group perspective.
