My sister and my daughters father has both went to jail for different reason and different cases, but I am stuck wondering how they ended up there in their lives. And is it o.k. to fell helpless because you can help them until they come home.

  1. My best advice, although it might sound mean, is to start knowing better people.  All told I have about 30 friends and acquaintances, none of which have ever been to prison.  The couple that've been arrested have been so over trivial matters.  In my family only 1 person has seen prison time, and they're a pariah, totally shunned by the rest of us.  As long as you associate with low class people you're going to feel helpless in the face of their illogical actions and the harsh consequences those actions will bring them.

You sound like a decent person... water seeks its own level, maybe you should, too.

  2. I wish i could answer this question for you,  but unfortunately im asking the same question. My boyfriend, who i love more than anything, is going to jail for 18 mths in a week. i am devastated and heartbroken. he's a good guy that made a stupid decision. he doesn't deserve this and all who are affected by this don't deserve this. i just keep wondering how can this be happening to us? im scared and lost. i think its ok to feel helpless. i just keep telling myself that i have to be strong for him. i wish you the best of luck and i hope you can make it through these hard times and just know that you are not alone.

  3. Just be there for them and try to help your sister and you by having fun keep your mind off of it
