i've been attending an office training for about 2 weeks only and just this weekend i was confronted that it seems i was hiding something from them just because i'm not an extrovert person and doesn't talk alot about myself. They've been coming up assumptions about my personality yet they don't even know me well just yet and i'm still not comfortable telling everything about with people who i've been with for only two weeks. Should I avoid this person or just let it be? the last thing i want to be is to be perceived as wanting to fit in but i also don't want to be a loner at the office. we go with same people during lunchbreaks so how do i deal?

  1. When someone confronts you the best course of action is to respond immediately so they cannot become bullies. Just smile and say you have no more to hide than they or anyone else does, you are just in a new situation and don't know anyone well enough yet to open up. Period.

  2. I'd suggest you take the time to explain to these folks exactly what you've just typed here.

  3. just  say with  a  smile: " if  were  exchanging personal information  then  ive  got  some personal questions  for  you too."

  4. You do not deal with this.  This is a case of someone who is either jealous or nosy!  Stare em down do not give into this type of behaviour if the trainer is having difficulty then let them come to you this other person is a jack *** and needs to mind their own biz!
