  1. Ist I would paint the ceiling beige to break up the white then you should add a canister set or butcher block set of knives. Then add a valance to your window and a bowl of fruit on the counter. You could try painting your upper cabinets a different color it's cheaper then replacing them.Or just add some hardware to them .good Luck!

  2. I think your best bet is to break up the white.

Perhaps take out one or two of the doors and have glass doors instead (on the top cabinets).  Paint the backs of those particular cabinets in a bold color of your choice (I think red or blue would be most fitting as it would really pop).

I agree that an Island with a wood butcher block would be  a perfect fit in your kitchen.  It would make it feel more homey.

I also think painting your ceiling a bit darker would be good.  You could add paint to the cabinets (although it is a lot of work), or perhaps if there is room, add a crown molding of sorts (a thin one if necessary) along the top cabinets to break them up from the ceiling (in a color that is complimentary to the orange).

Door hardware would be nice since your kitchen is nice and big.  A bamboo rug underneath a moveable kitchen island would help warm the room, and some curtains in an accent color of you choice (again, I like something contrasting with the orange/yellow, like blue or red.  Green would also be fresh and clean, and a stripe vs a solid would be good).  Add some plants, or a bowl of fruit on the island and voila!

    Good luck!  Enjoy redecorating!  ;)

  3. Since you don't want to do any serious remodeling, splash on some paint.  Paint is a real inexpensive way to change the look of a room with out having to really add anything but color.  I would paint the tile and the cabinets and celing.  I think that the island idea is great it would make the kitchen look more warm.

  4. i love the size of your kitchen, let me say that.  i personally would look into buying an island for the center.  then the kitchen wouldn't look so huge and bare.  you can get a butcher block type island, or a solid pine type from sears or somewhere silimar.  i liked the idea of the herb pots.  makes it more homey and would come in handy when recipes call for fresh herbs.  consider getting the containers that hold pasta, coffee, flour, etc in a fun color, like yellow or blue to contrast the orange tiled backsplash.  new hardware is a good idea as well.  good luck!

  5. take out the other plant you have and get a simple white vase and put some orange flowers like tulips in it. you could get some fresh herbs in pots and you could grow them in your kitchen too. get some nice white and orange curtains as well.

  6. Hardware on the cabinets first and then take a look at the next step.........but hardware first.

  7. Butcher block under the track lights

tiny terra cotta/white floral paper, cabinets above the counter

robin's egg blue, cabinets below the counter

glass shelving if possible, across the windows, filled with plants among

         pottery in those three colors

  8. Two things to do FOR SURE in your kitchen is an island and drawer/ door handles. You most definitely need an island, because your kitchen is retro-ish you need something light in the middle of the kitchen. My friend took a small desk ( it might have been a table) and she uses it as an island. She bought some peel and stick stainless steel and put it on top. It just looks fabulous and one of a kind. Plus it would provide seating and extra counter space The dishwasher, mic and oven can be covered with stainless steel sheets ( they sell them much thinner and they are designed for that purpose). Your appliances would match and your kitchen would look new already. Now. You need a curtain over your window and new blinds. I would say curtains like this

Not that pattern or color, but its straight. nothing frou-frou about it...sensible, just like the kitchen.

the cabinet doors need door handles and drawer pulls, I would say brushed nickel. like this

I'm at a loss as to how to decorate your countertops. In my kitchen. I have a tv in one corner for when i wash dishes or cook and in the other corner I have cannisters for my sugar, rice and beans. In the middle, close to the window, I have an ivy plant in a container..it adds color and life in the room.

Just adding a throw rug the length of your counters both ways would warm up the room.

  9. It looks so bland....so maybe add some black and red to it for contrast. Maybe get a black dishwasher...add black cabinet k***s, replace or paint the range hood black....update the lighting.

I just googled "white kitchen" and got a bunch of kitchens that have your color scheme with a lot of accents that might get your imagination jogging.
