  1. i think we are all ordinary PEOPLE

    we all have choices

    we all have good times

    we all have bad times

    we all make mistakes

    and we all have duties

    but it's what we do

    with those choices

    with those good times

    with those bad times

    with those mistakes

    and with those duties

    that make us extraordinary CREATIONS

    or

you can take a different approach and say

there is no such thing as an ordinary person

    whichever you preffer :]

  2. an "ordinary person" in my opinion..

is someone who repeatedly settles for society's expectations & does whatever means it will take just for that dose of approval

they will put their wishes & desires aside for fear that it will lead to changes..

and everybody knows that changes require too much of our efforts..

they settle for less than what they deserve..and (deep down they know this)

but they still won't take the steps to change the environment around them & continue to reside in their dull and mediocre habits..

  3. seriously there is no such thing as an ordinary person no one can tell you if your weird, ordinary, its how you see yourself because their comparinging you to them so your ordinary when you think your ordinary but to me i think ordinary is just you do almost everything you do good

  4. That's a good question but 4 me there is no such thing as an ordinary person as much as one may try to believe that he or she is ordinary it just isn't so......we all have something "wrong" with us or sonmething that's different.....but who's to say that the something different is wrong.....Personally I know that I am not an ordinary person and I wouldn't have it any other way......How would you define an ordinary person??? Would u fit that description???

  5. I would define them as boring and bereft of character.

For real though, ordinary is a subjective term that cannot truly be defined.  But, people consider someone "ordinary" if they generally conform to social norms (i.e. married, kids, picket fence, god-fearing, blah blah blah.)

  6. Hmmm, this is an interesting question. Firstly, doesn't 'ordinary' itself need to be defined? Are we talking about their personality, hobbies, job? Or are we focusing on the way said person would make decisions?

Well, ordinary could be a description of a bland person. Said person would have a bachelor's degree in a forgettable college and work at a boring, but financially satisfying, job, perhaps as secretary or as an accountant. Our ordinary person would go home, which is located in a 'nice but not particularly interesting' suburb of a city commonly seen in 70s travel brochures. His house could have a white picket fence and a clean, well tended to lawn. His wife works at a steady job, but she always gets off early enough to pick up their children from school, two of them, and come home to prepare dinner. His children are normally well behaved, but sometimes fight with each other. He eats a normal dinner, talking a synopsis of the days events as his children watch the TV. Aroud nine 'o clock he sends his children off to bed, an hour later he and his wife turn in. He wakes up the next day and repeats the same events.

That is what I consider an 'ordinary' life. A man whose name and life, personal and otherwise, are so cookie-cutter that it merely fades away.

However, a life like that is hard to find, so perhaps that itself is a rarity and therefore extraordinary.

Ordinary is as hard a concept to define as normal. In my opinion, both refer to stereotypes of the age. In the fifties, a woman was supposed to stay at home, tend to the children, cook, clean, and take care of things involving the house. The husband was supposed to work, come home, and earn all the income. This was considered 'normal'.

What is the stereotype in this day and age? God only knows. We are much more focused on individuality then it was when our parents where in high school, therefore it is harder to find a definite 'normalcy' quota, and the line between being ordinary and extraordinary is blurred. Ask ten people and you will receive nine different answers and perhaps a 'hmmph, I don't know'.

Is my point clear? Ordinary changes with the ages, therefore there is no concrete definition. A person you find ordinary will always be found by someone to be interesting.

Of course, if you want concrete, there's always the dictionary.

  7. Hmmmm. They certainly have issues and a raft of insecurities. I think 'most peoples' initial internal reaction to a stimulus is the same. An instant later however it has manifested itself as an expression due to whatever it activated in your brain. E.g. I walk up and slap you on the face. You feel heat, pain and offense. You may swear or hit me back, you may cry or laugh but your first unconcious reaction is no different than a person who reacts in a completely different way. It comes down to choice, experience and awareness of self. Whether the stimulus is a slap, a funny laugh a kind word or a nasty word it is only our responses we can master. An 'ordinary person' is just someone with feelings. An 'ordinary person' can do extraordinary things sometimes which is normal. Is normal ordinary? depends on context of word and meaning. Do you fit into the normal/usual order of things. People with different nuerological paths or hormone levels are normal variants and therefore also within the ordinary/usual order of things but again context is important. So an 'ordinary person' has a raft of things others aren't aware of influencing their active responses to stimulus and because we can't see what those things are we presume and let that influence our own response to stimulus, right or wrong. Often connecting another persons behaviour with our own selves creates problems. I always think about what could make me behave in the manner I have observed before adding the silent '******** or a*****e' to their image. If I can imagine a situation that may bring out similar behaviour in myself it makes it easier to let it go over my head and not effect me and my responses. Is that 'ordinary/usual' I'm starting to ramble and that is usual for me so....

    bye

But.... I am unique!..... Just like everybody else. hahaha we are all normal. An extraordinary person is easier to define. They place others needs before their own and set out to meet those needs for others who are less fortunate.

  8. A person who is smart, does not have any abnormal sickness like retarded and that and he can write, can do math normal, is not g*y (sorry but thats the way it is) , not pervert, does not bug people and bores them, weares normal clothes, not extremely pierced, not  opsessive about something, not an addict, does not fight with other people tooo much, cares about other and is compasionant, not in some group who respects devil and that stuff, not computer freak and not a hacker . Well that would be all what i could remember.

  9. Well, do you mean ordinary or NORMAL? because, ordinary is someone who fits in with the crowd. someone who doesn't wear weird clothes, someone who doesn't have extreme hair or makeup or clothes or personality. but nobody is normal. normal is boring. normal in and of itself is weird. normal is just bland and dull and gray.

  10. Well...

Ordinary is two parents, some happy children, a dog, and a goldfish in a fishbowl. Meat loaf for dinner, a family gathering around the widescreen TV, girls with longish hair, boys with shortish hair. No tattoos in sight.

I guess ordinary has kind of taken over the form of "square"...

That is how you define ordinary...

    But what ordinary IS?....

I think it's basically just the things that you repeatedly see, the pattern in your life. Things that come up on more than just occasion.

Ordinary is what you see, what meets your eyes each day.

But to define ordinary in just one person.....Basically, "ordinary", is me. Anything that is unlike me is foreign, not from my own island. Ordinary doesn't have a permanent line of definition... can't even give "ordinary" any adjectives or characteristics... all you can say is "me". Or maybe you can call it "your constant"....

Ordinary aint no ordinary word, aint it.

  11. To me, an ordinary person doesn't stand out in a group of people. Of course, everyone is different in their own way though, so no one's really ordinary. Where I am, "ordinary" varies from group to group. Like in my group of friends, almost everyone in the group is ordinary. But in another group, we're not, and they are.

  12. you will know an ordinary person if you

notice that he/she has an ordinary personality like for ex.

you notice that he/she is not so friendly

or you can understand directly from the word ordinary

    which means

    simple or normal

    something regular, customary, or usual.

the commonplace or average condition, degree, etc.: ability far above the ordinary.

  13. erm id say an ordinary person is someone who doesnt have there own mind, style, soul, someone who trys to be the same as someone else, wears what other people want them to/acts how someone else wants them to because they dont have the guts to stand up and say sod what u want i am my own person ill wear what i want and be what i want and you wont & cant stop me.

  14. i am the last answerer so its hard for me to make an original answer, but i tell you this is a nice question, very thought provoking..

ok, ill try..aside from what have been mentioned from above answers, i think ordinary for me umm..lets say...a yahoo answer profile..never been suspended, never been violated, never been hated by someone or anyone..why..bec the account is ordinary..never made any noise that people didnt even notice the presence of it..thats pretty easy to relate in real life..

one more defination is that ordinary is something that expects nothing, and anticipates on nothing and in the other way..something that you dont have any expectations for..

  15. Average, doesn't stand out from the crowd, however, i personally dont think that any of us are just average, we are all unique in our own special way, its just that some of us just dont have the "openness" that others do. Extroverts are usually noticed slightly more than introverted people but that doesn't mean that introverted people are just ordinary, it means that you have to get to know them better to see whats under the surface. Never judge a book by its cover as the old saying goes...

  16. a business person that doesn't do anything out of the ordinary or crazy someone who is shy and doesn't do anything that doesn't seem professional like an unordinary person might go all over the world to find collectibles or like that guy who visited about all the McDonald's in the US

everyone is crazy in some way everyone is crazy like something weird and an ordinary is i and 12 and it really still amuses me to watch baby shows and then later on i like watching adult shows and i have talking tellie tubbies!!!!!

and my autistic brother likes watching soap operas!!!!!

  17. "Ordinary" is a perception, an external judgment placed someone by someone else. It is not a state of being, as it is literally impossible for everyone to be the exactly same. Therefore, if someone is perceived as ordinary, then that person just seems to blend with society as opposed to someone like Barack Obama who makes his living sticking out of the mold.

    Just my opinion...

  18. Ordinary Person:

The man who use the resources like Clothing, Feeding, and Riches he own will expose a man Ordinary or a Luxury .

    On Clothing:

If anyone things "clothing is for just cover his body"

    He is an Ordinary Person.

If anyone things "Clothing brings me the respect from the society"

    He is a Luxury person.

Riches may define a man, Ordinary or Luxury...

  19. First off Ordinary is very vague. Ordinary Means Generally the same. So If everyone in the world was a theif and you were too you would be considered "ordinary" no matter how strange it would be. Now also consider if everyone else was a theif and you were not you would be cast down upon and insulted just because you did not believe in stealing. So the answer to your question: It is nearly impossible to describe "ordinary" without referring to other people which is ultimately stereotypical.

  20. Someone just like me, just an average person, with simple needs, who want to run a simple life, someone maybe a bit on the boring side, but does enough not to bored out of hit mind, someone who don't stand out in a crowd,  well not stand out too much...

Just mr. Plain, average, slightly boring, (maybe), Simple, (with a simple way of life), doesn't stand out from a crowd, etc, etc, etc, kind of guy...

  21. I would define an ordinary person as someone that does not stand out in a crowd.  A person that can contribute to the advancement of society without drawing attention to themself, someone that goes to work everyday, lives modestly, and sets a good example for their children, a dependable person, a friend who seeks nothing in return.  Being ordinary is very special.

  22. I'd define it, as my personal definition.

Depending of what type of  Ordinary person in different circumstances.

Ordinary American? Ordinary to a Church group ? Ordinary to be a baseball player ? Ordinary ideas ?

Ordinary is relative, or relative to the situation, under different circumstances.

To me an ordinary person is someone who is a family man, who supports his family, is a good father.

An ordinary women would be a mother who raises her children, and guides them to the right path.

  23. 'Ordinary' is someone who isn't too different from me, but definitely would have 'average' intelligence which would be a little lower than my own, and 'average looks' which would also be a little lower than my own.

Depending on how you view yourself, you would use this as a reference surely. Skin would be rather pale, English speaking (spell recognise, not recognize - recognize is not ordinary).

  24. Ordinary comprise the average person, in america, i would say an ordinary person would be a middle class, perferably white person, with two parents, peferably together, 1 or 2 siblings, a pet, again preferably. Church going family, preferably protestant. So basically, i equate ordinary with WASP....is that bad?

  25. an ordinary person ..............mmmm

An ordinary person eats ordinary food, wears ordinary clothes, has and ordinary body,an ordinary personality, they eat ordinary meals, with ordinary people, they go to an ordinary school/work,they think ordinary thought, they do ordinary things

    SO you,be extraordinary.

    Because if everyone was ordinary

    there would be no unique

    there would be no individual

    there would be no past

    no present

    and no future

    :)

  26. ooh, depends on the age of the person... but it's usually the one who never breaks any norm someone who's not necessarily a coward, but who's unimaginative enough not to take any courage in life.

as a child an Ordinary person usually comes from ordinary parents. their life revolves around their circle of friends in the neighborhood, but no matter how much he'll stick around with his friends, the Ordinary will never be the leader of the little brats, in the best of cases he will come the second best. he will never invent a new game and whenever his parents will buy him a new toy, he'll discover that everyone else around has the exact toy... yet, nothing will ever make him forget the temptation to imitate everyone, even the most insignificant kid in the area. yes, as a child the Ordinary is a copy cat.

as a teen, the Ordinary has acne and never gets the best marks at school. but he never protests... he thinks that's how things should be. He would be afraid of cheating at exams, but that won't stop him from secretly wishing to sleep with the teacher. too bad, though, the teacher would never talk about him in front of the class... he's too average. the Ordinary will date, of course, an Ordinary girl... they would go out in the same place (probably situated in the middle of the distance between their houses) having the same Ordinary food and the same Ordinary drink (fast food type). She would smile at him Ordinarily while he whispers the Ordinary "I love your smooth hair / You have the most beautiful eyes on the planet" in her ear. They will eventually marry and it's not because they really love each other, but because they are scared they are so Ordinary they will end up alone if they broke up.

In his forty, the Ordinary is a single person with the Ordinary problems of the middle age. His Ordinary wife has left him with one of his friends (just for the sake of... an Ordinary change), he would like to have a wild life and go out (meeting maybe a trashy person to have an adventure of a night), yet he ends up masturbating (once a week)... he's too afraid to change his Ordinary way of life.

at sixty, he has a dog and a retirement fund. enough money to travel the world. but what does the Ordinary do? stay at home in front of his big TV, having French fries. On Friday night he plays poker with his friends. You think they play on money? well, here you're wrong... they play on beer. Oh wait, though! There's a sound coming from the kitchen! the Ordinary stops chewing his fries and looks curiously to see what happened. "Are you ok"?, he says. "yes, I just broke your grandmother's glass" says the voice of a woman appearing from behind the door. who do you think she is? She's the Ordinary's wife, yes, the love of his life, the woman he married in his early twenties. She's back with him because... the other guy, the friend she left with, didn't prove so... relaxingly Ordinary as her husband.

    Yes, the Ordinary always gather...

  27. Good Question...

I believe ordinary persons are those who live in this silently, do social activities hiddenly.

Most of us are officially ignore such people because they believe that they are useless for them and such people can't help them in any account.

I like be as an ordinary person but i am programmer/software engineer having a bore but very good job.

I like be an ordinary person.

Someone says "If you wanna to be famous stay ordinary person".

    Hope you like my opinion.

  28. to me an ordinary person is a person who is themselves. they don't change to have people like them. they do what they want and don't care what people say about it. they just go with the flow. they do their own thing, the way they want to. just being themselves to me is an ordinary person. even if its not ordinary to u.

  29. This is just my opinion, definition, and my personal view, from some of many articles reading About "Ordinary Person". So be quite and read. =D

Ordinary: I translate this word into commonly.

Ordinary people mean people in common.

    www.articlesbase.com

"Not all people firmly believe in the power of positive thinking. Some people regard the topic as simply ridiculous, and others criticize at individuals who believe and accept it. Among the individuals who accept it, not all of them have the capability to utilize it properly to achieve excellent outcomes. Nevertheless, it looks like many are becoming influenced by positive thinking, as proven by the many studies, articles and findings about it. This is a topic that is slowly attaining credibility."

From the paragraph above, we can see that some sentences "not all people have positive thinking", "some people regard bla bla..", "the other criticize bla bla..", "...many (people) are..", there is a bunch of people act in common they were (majority --didn’t have a bla bla, always blab la, and do some bla bla).

They can be mad in front of the public, they can shy, they can lie, and they can cry, they can be fool, sometimes they are smart, kinds, lovely, jerk, boring, and more that that, they can be an evil too you know!

That is what I call, ordinary people, you are you, maybe you can act like somebody, well who doesn’t? We are people in common, we are ordinary people.

You can bravely shout to the world: "I AM NOT AN ORDINARY PEOPLE!! I AM SUPERBOOYY!!" but that's make no different, except you are come from Krypton, you are just the same as I do. Human being.

    Sorry, there is some addition:

There are extraordinary person who DOES NOT ACT/THINK/BEHAVE LIKE THE OTHER, e.g. Robinson Crusso, Tarzan, some people in psycho-hospital, Drew Barrymore in 50 1st Date, and so many fictional character.

If you think you are extraordinary, think about it twice, are you?

  30. Hmm.. an ordinary person would be somebody who has no problems.. does every single thing that the society that they live in considers "normal", somebody who got along with everybody, somebody who didn't have any weird personality traits....

thankfully there aren't any people like this and it isn't really possible

but if we were talking about the ordinary people that do exist i would say its the people that try to be like the discription above.. because that is predictable.. therefore ordinary.. if that makes any sense

soo in my opinion predictable = ordinary

  31. Someone who is exactly and completely average.  They are average height, weight build.  They don't stand out in a crowd.  There accent is hard to place and bland.  They wear what most of the population wears.  They have average intelligence etc etc.

Basically the perfect "ordinary person" would fit into every average in existence in the middle.
