How would you define crime?

How would you define crime? Based on your definition, which model do you relate to (consensus or conflict)? Why?

  1. Crime is any activity that's against the law.  I would guess that's "consensus", but I don't really know what you mean by those.  I'd choose "consensus" because, in theory at least, the law is society's consensus about what is and is not allowable behaviour.


  2. if you cut your wife's head off and run around town with it, then eventually throw it in the police car, it's a crime.

  3. Crime is an action you made that is against the law.

    Ex.Drinking and driving

    I would say that a crime is a conflict.

    Because of your actions you get a punishment(aka jail)

    And the definition of conflict is to come into a collision

  4. Hello,

    A crime isn't a crime just because some corrupt politician got it written into the books. The same is true of the inverse. I suggest you cite examples such as the civil rights movement, & the (ridiculous) war on drugs...
