  1. Usually I stick it in the fridge the day before I want it. But on occasion I do forget and set it in the sink to defrost, once it starts to get icy I stick it back in the fridge. What hasn't thawed by the time I cook, usually  thaws when I wash it in water and lime.

for things like chicken you can defrost in cold water, change it often until thawed.

If you want to defrost in the microwave , you would not have to take it out of the package.

  2. if you dont have the time to wait for it in the fridge then you could defrost it in the microwave.

  3. EITHER IN THE FRIG, one the counter or submerged in water depending on what type of meat is was n how quick I needed it.. I don't defrost anything in the microwave except hamburger..

  4. you can either leave it out, put it in the fridge, or in the microwave. just follow the directions on the meat.

  5. Zap it in the microwave on "defrost" (or 30), or leave it in a sealed bag and let it soak in hot water (like in the sink). Those are the fast ways, and only if you're cooking it right away. Otherwise, do it in the refrigerator so it doesn't get bad things living on it. It takes longer in the fridge, but plan ahead. Bigger pieces take longer than smaller.

  6. No....

Make sure you remove the plastic wrap, or else you will steam the meat.

I would recommend, if you have enough time, to put it in the microwave on the defrost setting, only until it is just partly defrosted.  Then take it out of the micro and let it sit out an hour or so.

You didn't say what kind of meat.  If it is chicken, do NOT EVER put it in the micro.  Put it under cold running water for about 1/2 hour.

  7. in the microwave. the place where i work has a deli n i have seen them doing in the microwave. u can do it in the microwave until it has a defrost button.

  8. leave in the refrigerator the night before, if you defrost in microwave it taste horrible!! and don't trust to put it in water because it might get bacteria

  9. leave in the fridge the night before

  10. If it is completely sealed...you could submerge the package in cool-warm water in the sink or a large bowl. Microwave works well too. Good Luck!

  11. If you have meat in a ziploc bag you can defrost it in the microwave on the appropriate settings, but be sure to open the bag to let a little steam escape in case it builds. Set it for 2 min increments and keep turning the meat until it defrosts. Or leave it on the counter for about 3 or 4 hours but be careful so the meat does not get warm!

  12. yes

    or

put it in a bag or something and boil or just run hot water over it in the sink. you could let it soak in hot water also. that should do some good

  13. I take it out a few hours before cooking it, and put it in the kitchen sink with cold water. It thaws out rather quickly.
