  1. Sushi refers to the rice, not raw fish.  But how would I describe it?  Yum, yum, yum. I LOVE sake, hamachi, uni, amaebi, and toro nigiri<3

I do love maki (rolls) as well, but I prefer nigiri.  Most people think that maki is the only type of sushi, and they're so, so, so wrong.  I once saw a girl answer a question about what sushi was and she said, IT'S RICE ON THE OUTSIDE WITH STUFF INSIDE, and I literally laughed out loud.

It has to be just the right amount of rice, though, otherwise it's overwhelming and it's not a good mix of rice and other ingredients.

Sushi can be served warm, but it's usually not nigiri and it's typically something like a tempura shrimp roll.

  2. It's okay, and yes, I believe it is always served cold.

  3. It's vinegared rice with various ingredients - meat, fish, vegetables etc.  It's not, as some people think, necessarily raw fish. (Raw fish is sashimi.)

Wiki has a good article about it.

  4. Sushi is raw fish mixed with a bunch of othere things like rice and vegtables and some even have more than one kind of fish.

Sushi rolls are raw fish raped in seaweed with rice and some other vebtables.

You should try it because you never know if youll like it or not i always thought it was horrible until i tried it and i liked it alot.

I had a sushi roll with fish rice carrouts cucmber and wrapped in seaweed it seems disgusting but just remember millions of people like it look at japan thats practically their favorite food!

  5. Salutations,

I would first point out that the word "sushi" denotes the vinegrated rice and Nori, and not raw fish, though many of the fish you can get can be raw. I have had sushi that had cooked ingredients that were indeed still warm, if not down right hot, so no it does not have to be cold, but I perfer cold to hot myself. it's all what You like in regards to sushi. The best advice I can give about it is always go into trying it with an open mind. and enjoy! Cheers

  6. Delicious!  It's usually served cold or cool, but not all of the ingredients may be cold.  Shrimp tempura sushi should have room-temp rice and nori wrappers, and the shrimp inside should be hot and crispy.  With the fish sushi, if it's too cold, you won't be able to really taste the fish--which actually doesn't taste that fishy at all, it's a very clean, light taste.  It's best to let it warm a few minutes before eating.

  7. Delicious.

It isn't always served cold because sometimes they will have cooked meat inside or the outside would be deep fried like the tempura roll. For example, the volcano roll is usually topped with baked seafood. And shrimp tempura roll consists of a deep fried shrimp rolled into the sushi roll.

I'm not speaking on behalf of EVERY sushi restaurant, but this is what they have at a place I usually go to.

  8. i would describe it by saying its nasty  raw fish why would anybody want to eat that stuff and i don't know if its always served cold because i've never tried it and i never never will in my whole entire life!!

  9. Lovely and light. Yum yum. Hmm I'm pretty sure its always cold.
