How would you describe the Seine River in Paris, France?

Question

Like, I'm especially focusing on the smell. I know the Ports smell...very distinctly, but I'd like to know what other people think of the actual river. Sensory details would be best :D.

it looks like the chocolate river from charlie and the chocolate factory.  It smells like paris, or whoever you get stuck sitting next to on the bateau mouche.  (sweat and perfume.)

The Seine doesn't have a noticeable smell.  The water is clean.  It looks green because the river is normally very slow-moving and aquatic plants grow in the water, but it is not polluted.

it dirty and smelly   when we drive by  to  run in to  Paris i always comment the water never looks clean and it always has a bad smell not good for health reasons .

I don't remeber it smelling. But it was breathtaking to look at.
