  1. very political - you better know people

    very competitive

They do a lot more than "argue and sue people".

BUT WARNING:  Jobs in the field of Law are drying up FAST!!!  This is not a good field to invest in right now.  Reasons:  very bad economy, people now (mistakenly) think they can do their own legal work thank to the WWWeb, there are way TOO MANY law schools in this country (USA) churning out way TOO MANY graduates (and this includes legal support staff).

Suggestion:   Go into the field of Healthcare <<< LOTS of jobs there!!

  2. I think that it depends on the person really and what kind of law they practice.

  3. A good lawyer is like an artist. They can weave complex defenses using a combination of case law, evidence, and testimonies--much like a fine artist may paint a landscape using a variety of paints. Lawyers do much more than simply "argue and sue" people. Lawyers are involved in ever facet of our lives, whether we're selling a house, doing our taxes, signing a contract, or keeping a murderer off the streets. Every law on the books in this country was crafted and argued by lawyers, whether it be a simple leash law in your town or an amendment to the united states constitution. Our country was actually founded by lawyers, great men who knew justice had to come before anything else. It's the countries without lawyers they fall into chaos. With hard work, and a passion for the law and justice, you can become a lawyer.
