How would you develop a rapport with someone in a letter before stating to him what the letter is complaining about?

  1. Begin with a brief positive statement for example;  I have been shopping here for many years because I have always been treated so well by the employees here however ( insert complaint here). Try to end on a positive note as well but make your letter as brief as you can, do not ramble. Come to the point, stay there, then close.

  2. You have to go the positive-negative-positive route. Start with what you like then explain what was wrong and end with I would love to come back when such-such is fixed. Also make sure and explain how loyal you are to them and how disappointed you are.
