  1. I'm no judo expert but I have trained in Aikido and Shotokan.  If you want more speed I'd say look into plyometrics as a workout routine to exercise those fast twitch muscles.  Also maintain a relaxed suppleness posture before performing the technique.

I hate to disagree with your instructor but I think aggression is the wrong word.  Aggression implies clouded judgment.  You can have an aggressive fighting style meaning more offensive, which means setting up your opponent to make them vulnerable, rather than waiting for their attack to open up a spot.  However you still need to stay calm so you can react freely and stay relaxed.

  2. Just think of what bothers you then concentrate on it, it should just come to you.  Have some one hit you or something an dont have them tell you but tell someone else.

  3. I can only assume what your instructor means by aggressiveness that he or she means he want you to be quicker to attack or go for the take down. Sometimes we are too hesitant in our decision making.

It takes more practice and confidence. Just stick with it you will get better, faster and more  aggressive in time.

When I was actively studying Judo on our patch was and eagle. Our club was Bushido. There were two types of birds in our class. You can be either an eagle or a buzzard. You could win and be a buzzard. Long story shorten.

An eagle is a predator. It attacks its prey.

A buzzard is a scavenger. It waits until its prey is already wounded or dead.

We were supposed to be eagles.

    I hope this helps.

  4. any bungee cords? weight vest?

i have always had good quickness, which i consider a little different category than speed...and to be honest, if its not a given talent, im not sure how to develop quickness, maybe just constant drilling until muscle memory takes over...

as for aggression, your guess is as good as mine, be mindful of your partner when aggressively sparring or going for takedowns...
