It's easy to slap on a label of psychotic to Heath Ledger's Joker character. What else might you slap him with?

Better yet, what about Batman? He's bound to have one too, right?

    ok, psychotic, for sure.

    personality disorder. highly intelligent with paranoid and destructive tendencies.

  5. I think that batman had some issues with smoking pot or something! i mean...he really thinks he can fly? and a BAT suit? hahahahahaha! and then his voice is so messed up!

    and then the joker, he's just awesome! there's nothing wrong with him! haha. maybe the joker takes drugs too...

  6. The Joker appears to have an Antisocial Personality Disorder (along with depression and schizophrenia).  The criteria for APD are exhibiting at least 3 of the following traits:

    1.  Failure to conform to social norms with respect to lawful behaviors as indicated by repeatedly performing acts that are grounds for arrest;

    2.  Deceitfulness, as indicated by repeatedly lying, use of aliases, or conning others for personal profit or pleasure;

    3.  Impulsivity or failure to plan ahead;

    4.  Irritability and aggressiveness, as indicated by repeated physical fights or assaults;

    5.  Reckless disregard for safety of self or others;

    6.  Consistent irresponsibility, as indicated by repeated failure to sustain consistent work behavior or honor financial obligations;

    7.  Lack of remorse, as indicated by being indifferent to or rationalizing having hurt, mistreated, or stolen from another.

    Batman appears to have an Obsessive Compulsive Personality Disorder (along with PTSD and depression).  These are results from observing his parents death.  The criteria for OCPD are exhibiting at least 4 of the following traits:

    1.  Preoccupation with details, rules, lists, order, organization, or schedules to the extent that the major point of the activity is lost

    2.  Showing perfectionism that interferes with task completion (e.g., is unable to complete a project because his or her own overly strict standards are not met)

    3.  Excessive devotion to work and productivity to the exclusion of leisure activities and friendships (not accounted for by obvious economic necessity)

    4.  Being overconscientious, scrupulous, and inflexible about matters of morality, ethics, or values (not accounted for by cultural or religious identification)

    5.  Inability to discard worn-out or worthless objects even when they have no sentimental value

    6.  Reluctance to delegate tasks or to work with others unless they submit to exactly his or her way of doing things

    7.  Adopting a miserly spending style toward both self and others; money is viewed as something to be hoarded for future catastrophes

    8.  Shows rigidity and stubbornness

    Diagnosis can only be made by evaluation of the individual, but clearly that's impossible so all diagnoses are speculation.

  7. Antisocial personality disorder

  8. This could go on and on for ages. I could go into each specific reasoning and action that would apply to a number of mental diagnosis.

    I would say the Joker is manic depressive, based on his desires for 'thrills' such as telling Batman"HIT ME!" and quite frankly wanting to be hit. Perhaps a *touch* of a sadomasochist, along with Schizophrenia.

    For Batman? I'd say he has a bit of a 'Napoleon Complex' going on, some amount of depression I imagine with the death of his parents weighing heavily on his actions,and general despair he experiences.

    Once again, I could go on and on forever.

    But lets keep things short.

  9. You know, I used to work at mental health (as a secretary) and I noticed the joker did this thing where he smacked his lips together like he extremely dry mouth. A lot of clients on antipsychotic medication did the same thing. Obviously he was psychotic, probably an extreme form of schizophrenia, where he was convinced he was doing those things for a justified cause. It amazing that some brilliant minds can have such severe illnesses like that. Some of the smartest people have schizophrenia!

    Jeeze as for batman, I'd at least give him obsessive compulsive and post traumatic because of his parents getting killed!
