  1. 0.9y-0.7=4.2

    0.9y=4.2+0.7

    you transfer the -0.7 to the right side..so it turns to be positive 0.7

    then..0.9y=4.9

    then..y=4.9/0.9

    there fore ur answer is..y=5.44

  2. the y equals 4.9 over 0.9

  3. add .7 to both sides

    then you have .9y=4.9

    divide by .9

    then you get 5.4444

    or 49/9ths

    the answers by adam and eddietheface are incorrect due to the fact that you cannot have a decimal in a fraction

  4. 0.9y-0.7=4.2

    multiply the equation by 10

    9y-7=42

    9y-7+7=42+7

    9y=49

    y=49/9=5 4/9=5.44444444......5

  5. 0.9y-0.7=4.2

    0.9y=4.9

    y=4.9/.9

  6. firstly, add 0.7 on both sides

    then , divide both side by 0.9 .

    answer = 4.9/ 0.9=5.444444.....
