How would you explain the passive voice to a low level student using language they would understand?

I need to explain passive voice to my students, but I need to dumb it down a bit to help them understand.

I use a cat -

active, doing action - The cat climbed the tree. (s, cat; v, climbed)

passive, subject is acted upon - The tree was climbed by the cat.

         (s, tree; v, was climbed)
