I need to explain passive voice to my students, but I need to dumb it down a bit to help them understand.

  1. I use a cat -

    active, doing action - The cat climbed the tree. (s, cat; v, climbed)

    passive, subject is acted upon - The tree was climbed by the cat.

             (s, tree; v, was climbed)


  2. Comment on the difference between "did" and "was done by", and give examples.

  3. eh ...try drawing stuff and connecting words giving them examples just be soft
