Hypothetically, of course.

Let's say perhaps an Alien space craft crashed into your Gazebo and the Aliens are interested in learning all about what humans believe. Or perhaps you came upon Bigfoot while camping and he wanted to chat about all of that humanity stuff that he always found so fascinating.

Or maybe you accidentally discovered a lost tribe of Atheists in the Himalayas... and... I'm sure you're picking up what I'm throwing down, right?

I'm just curious to see how you would explain what you personally believe, whatever it is (monotheist, atheist, pantheist, polytheist, henotheist, dualtheist, misotheist, etc.) to someone with no conception of religion at all.

  1. i tell i think that thier some form of god but im to lazy to go full on that theroy im still expolring other ideas

  2. It would be easier with the aliens. My belief is in non-human intelligences of which aliens would just be another type.

  3. I would play it by ear depending on their age...you didnt say...

  4. "Well, you see...

    And yours?"

More specifically, I would say "The world we live in is all we have, and, in a few short years, it'll be all we ever had."

    Atheistically yours,

    JM Gendron.

  5. I would immediately demand that they convert or die.  If they pause too long to think about it, too bad.  They've made their decision.

  6. I wouldn't have to. We'd already be on the same page.

  7. Hi

After saying take me to your leader I would explain that as a Vegan I hold all life as sacred this is my belief, that as a Vegan I have no religion but that I follow a path that pursues peace.

    God Bless

  8. I would describe it as the means with which humans attempt to understand reality.

At least, that would be how i would describe my personal belief.

p.s; If it were space aliens, i'd probably ask them whether or not their understanding of Reality was based purely on technological progress.

edit: to the guy below me - Yay for intergalactic space wars!

    ^^

  9. Aliens 'may' be intelligent enough to observe through ones life style, which is how I would go about it, but then I do not believe there are aliens.

Bigfoot would be to 'thick' so I would not waste my time.

Lost tribes I would leave in peace and would not seek to change their life style.

    Hypothetically of course.

  10. ALL thinking beings realize that nothing came from nothing.

the only difference is that many worship the creation, while some have opened their hearts to the creator.

  11. I dont know

  12. Well it's easier now given my new path...

    Morals:

Would I like it if someone did that to me?  That's the basic moral filter.

    Do good things.

    Think good things.

    Say good things.

    Live life to the fullest.

    Live in the moment.

    yada yada yada

  13. I probably wouldn't.

My religion isn't something I share with strangers.

I'd probably say something along the lines of transmission of culture and connection to the past and present, if pushed.
