Assuming there were no issues with the signals interfering with the planes systems, how would you feel about people being about to use their cell phones on a plane.

Personally, I would love to be able to send/receive text messages or emails and I would love to be able to browse the internet. But the last thing I want is to be stuck in a small compartment listening to people yak away on their phones.

  1. I would hate it.  For some reason, people think that when they get on a cell phone, they have to scream in order for the other person to hear them.  I hope they never allow cell phones on planes.

  2. Life was better before we had cell phones.

    I would not like it.

  3. first of all good luck getting a signal to a repeater from an airliner. Secondly, using a cell phone is not prohibited in flights that are not under IFR flight plan unless the flight crew instructs otherwise.

  4. People and their cell phones drive me nuts. They talk while driving, while waiting in lines, while shopping in grocery stores and in restaurants. What in the world do they have to say and who are they talking to?

One of the LAST things that I want is 200 people on an aircraft talking to people on the ground.

    Regards,

    Dan

  5. First of all, there are, in fact, technical issues with signal interference, such that it is not practical for mobile phones and certain other types of electronics to be turned on during a flight.

Second, I think the babble would be 'way worse than the babble of Babel.  It would drive everybody crazy.  People who are so driven that they can't stand to be slightly isolated for a few hours have serious problems and need therapy.  So do the employers that drive people so hard.

American society will collapse if we don't learn to slow down a little.

    Amen
