How would you feel and/or respond to these comments?

1. If it wasn't for me, you'd be living in some trashy trailer park.

2. If I let you have your way, you'd sit around doing nothing all the time and get fat.

3. You're so boring - you're the most boring person I know.

Sometimes hurtful words spoken in anger can't be taken back, and sometimes they reveal the true attitude of the speaker. Please read Patricia Evans' The Verbally Abusive Relationship for more.

These comments would be deal breakers for me.

That is verbal abuse and this person has a control problem. They have low self esteem so they try to make the other feel bad...therefore making them feel "powerful". NOT a way to treat a significant other. Its very disrespectful. Ive been in this situation before and I left. Good luck, if its you

If my husband said these things to me he wouldn't be my husband for to much longer that's for sure.

If my husband thought so little of me that he would think that and then actually say it...well that would let me know that we shouldn't be together and I would leave him.

It would depend on what lead up to the comments people say stuff out of anger and some times putting it in a line like this takes it out of context so I would have to know what lead up to the statements. (just to add people tend to say what someone said to them that was bad but leave out what they did or said). That's why I say I would have to know what lead up to it.

WELL IF I HUSBAND SAID THOSE I WOULD BE HURT. SOUNDS LIKE HE THINKS HE OWNS YOU AND IF HE THINKS YOR BORING HOW DO YOU FEEL ABOUT HIM. AND HEY IF HE TALKS TO YOU LIKE THAT MAYBE YOU SHOULD TELL HIM YOU MIGHT BE BETTER OFF LIVING IN A TRAILOR PARK. SOUNDS LIKE HES PUTTING YOU DOWN WAY TOO MUCH...
