  1. I'd hate to see the Red Sox miss the playoffs. But I'd love it if the Yankees missed it.

That said, I'd be shocked if both missed it.

Oh you're terribly welcome Mel, I suppose it's what I do best.

  2. Happy/Upset.

  3. very very disappointed...especially the sox...no one is really injured so they should be able to make it...as for the yanks...they got a lot of injured players...i wouldnt really blame them...sox better make it or ima explode XD

  4. I would be in great shock.... I believe as an Angels fan that an American League playoff bracket without either the Yankees or Red Sox would no be a very exciting one at all, ever since I can remember loving baseball at least one of those teams has always made the playoffs (mainly the Yankees)

  5. I would feel like that karma truly does exist.

  6. Extremely happy, GO ANGELS!! [:

Although I must admit it wouldn't be very exciting.

  7. I would rejoice.  But who would Fox root for and over hype; who would ESPN force us to watch??  I would be happy.  The playoffs would once again be about the sport not some overrated franchises.

  8. The Beast of the East

    Go Rays

Just say No to The Yanks and the Sox

I saw this on a Web Site

How are the 2008 Rays similar to the 1969 Mets?

On the 1969 Mets, the ace starter was 24-year-old Tom Seaver

On the 2008 Rays, the ace starter is 24-year-old Scott Kazmir

The 1969 Mets had a 61-101 record 2 years prior to winning the World Series (1967)

    The 2008 Rays had a 61-101 record 2 years ago (2006)

    >The 1969 Mets had a closer, Ron Taylor, who had won a World Series (1964)

    >The 2008 Rays have a closer, Troy Percival, who has won a World Series (2002)

    >The 1969 Mets were 53-39 at the All-Star break

    >The 2008 Rays were 55-39 at the All-Star break

    >The 1969 Mets manager had a 3-letter first name (Gil) and a 6-letter last name (Hodges)

    >The 2008 Rays manager has a 3-letter first name (Joe) and a 6-letter last name (Maddon)

    >The 1969 Mets had a rookie as their primary third baseman (Wayne Garrett)

    >The 2008 Rays have a rookie as their primary third baseman (Evan Longoria)

Okay, I wasn't buying it until the Gil Hodges and Joe Maddon comparison, but now I'm convinced! To make things even eerier, I should point out that that both the Rays and Mets have four letters in their nicknames. It's fate, people.

  9. The Rays will dominate the division for the next 10 years

  10. I wouldn't mind seeing the Red Sox miss the play offs but the Yankees I would be a little upset at first but get over it & to think they had a 13 year run at making play offs which no other team can match.

  11. I would love it if the AL playoffs were the rays, twins, white sox, angels

  12. I'd hate to see the Yankees miss the playoffs. But I'd love it if the Red Sox missed it.

That said, I'd be shocked if both missed it.

  13. I would be appalled because they're both really good teams. They both deserve to go. and the red sox won the world series last year.

In my opinion, i'm rooting for the sox out of the 2

  14. I really wouldn't care.  There are fans of 28 other teams in the league that are more interested in their own playoff chances than they are in the playoff fate of the two teams that get shoved down their throat at every opportunity by ESPN and Fox Saturday Baseball.

  15. uh, i would feel like im in a dream cuz the chances of them both missing the playoffs (with boston leading wildcard) is pretty slim.

  16. see what i care

  17. happy. I HATE THE YANKEES! I dont mind the sox, but i'd love to see the underdog tampa bay make the playoffs instead. its about time someone else got a chance in that division!

  18. I'm a bit partial to the Sox (because of a, <ahem> "common enemy" we share) so I enjoy it when they do well, but if they didn't make it it wouldn't be too much of a big deal.

If the Yankees didn't make it, I'd probably throw a party.
