How would you feel if your dad made the forbes list of the worlds billionares?

Question

ets say you always knew that your friends family was well off but her parents lied to her..well not really lie but just never told her how much they made and then one day she googled her dads name and found out how much money he has then she asked him and he denys it.

What gives??

and i'm just giving an example

and how do the people who write the articles even know how much money he makes. How do they even know about how many kids a person has?? Who tells theM??

Congratulations.  I think it is a very respectible thing to not talk about how much money you are worth.  Your father sounds like an upstanding guy.

Is your dad on the forbes list? I would feel great in knowing that I would have a raise in allowence and possibly a car for my 16 bday! until then i rest assured knowing i am a middle class suburbanite with parents who have a mini van

Its probably good that she didnt grow up knowing how well off they were. If she did, chances are, she'd be a greedy spoiled brat who expects everyone to do everything for her. Thats no way to step into the real world. You have to appreciate and value working to get respect, and money too.

For one Forbes Magazine, is a magazine that reports people's wealth not, their family life. For two that is a little weird that your friend would grow up and not no her family was rich unless maybe they did a good job hiding. Maybe her dad didn't want her knowing, because it wasn't her concern yet.
