  1. To clarify, it used to be common to re-glaze windows yourself when they were single-paned.  But the new ones don't use glazing compound.  The other posters are correct, this is not a home-repair job anymore.

  2. you dont "Fix" a double paned window if the glass is broken. You dont "fix" any window if the glass is broken, for that matter. Call a qualified repair man, he will have to come out and take measurements and then send it to a shop where they will have to custom make a new window to fit that size hole. I usually dont like to see responses on "Yahoo Answers" that say "call a repairman" or "ask so and so" but in this case, it kind of warrants that type of response, since there is no way you can "repair" broken glass.  Handyman.com is one option. glassdoctor.com is another.

  3. Unfortuneatly there is no easy, cheap fix for this.  Most double pane windows are filled with a gas to help insulate the window and keep ultra violet rays out.  You need to take the window unit out if it is vinyl and take it to a glass repair shop and let them fix it. If the window unit cannot be lifted out, you will need to have a repairman come and either replace the window or have him take the window apart.  There is just no easy way out of this one... sorry.
