  1. Learn what people want to hear, and then say it.

  2. It looks like you would have to start your own business.

  3. Except for a very few,it's a hobby not a job.Even the few successful people in the field are are more showmen then investigators.

  4. An actual career is going to be very hard to come by, since nobody really hires demonologists or paranormal investigators. You basically have to be in business by yourself, but that's a problem because most paranormal investigators don't charge for their services. So, the best you can do to make money in these areas is write some books, get on TV, do something which people will pay for. In the meantime, my advice would be to concentrate on a career that will pay the bills until then.

  5. Ok...soooo...I have to say that everyone's comments about fraudulent psychics is lame. Neither a demonologist nor a paranormal investigator is synonymous with such a thing.

There are no jobs. Demonology and paranormal investigation are not careers.

First of all, in order to truly be a demonologist, you should probably have a degree in theology, or at the very least philosophy. Much like real parapsychologists are actually people with real Ph.Ds.

  6. The best way is to find a lot of people who are superstitious and who not only believe in the paranormal, but also that spirits/demons roam the earth causing problems.  Then you swoop in and save the day.

I would recommend you set up shop in an underdeveloped nation that has a poor education system, because superstition and a lack of education go hand in hand.  If no one is educated then they will all believe in the supernatural and you will make a fortune, relative to the economy you are in.

Unless you are one heck of a marketer you will not be able to survive in those careers in the developed world.  Most people who do such things engage in it as a hobby.

  7. Well you are not going to like this answer.

As a demonologist (which is what the Warrens called themselves) you could join the clergy of a  church. The Catholic church (and Episcopals) still train some priest in the rite of exorcism. This would be the best path since demons, angels, etc. are a spiritual/religious belief/phenomena.

At the very least attend a seminary somewhere to get religious and scripture education.

You will have a paid job tending to people's spiritual needs and can pursue your interest (at church expense) to help people that report being bothered by demons.

You could like the Warrens write books about your investigations and hope they sell well enough to make a living on. The Warrens did OK in book sales.

Paranormal Investigator: Most people engage in this as a hobby and do not charge for their services. Again you could write books about your investigations and hope they sell well. You could set a web site (as someone already suggested) and do things like sell books, equipment, courses on investigating, etc. Beyond this it would be very difficult.

If you wish to pursue this line of work in a serious manner (and eat) I would suggest an education in a traditional science like physics or biology or a social science like psychology or anthropology. This depends on what approach you wish to take in studying paranormal phenomena and what phenomena you wish to study. For instance if you want to study bigfoot I would say biology or zoology.

Most members of the Parapsychological Association (link below) hold doctorate degrees in a traditional science.

  8. Unless you are willing to hawk your website and fill it with google-ads and sell shirts and bumper stickers or a BS certification course on hunting demons, you can't make a dime doing this.

Right now I have had to buy my emf meters, thermometers, digital recorders, IR capable video cameras, digital cameras, cases, tripods, domain name and hosting fees, HOURS researching and updating the web pages and fuel to and from investigations.  I have not recovered a single penny of those expenses except in satisfaction and fun.

  9. Idk Google how John Edwards got famous.

  10. If you get a "job" within a church doing this..please make sure that it isn't just a "job". The people in the churches who consider their vocation as a "job" are not good shepherds. But, if you've read the Bible..you already know this.

  11. I wasnt aware these were jobs. I dont get paid. I do it for knowledge and understanding what I personally have experienced.

  12. Grow horns and a tail
