Question:

How would you go about making lots of small cubes?

I need them to model a problem I'm working on. Lots of small cubes, all of the same size. I live in the city and to not have access to very many tools or materials. Even cardboard (clean cardboard, anyway) is kind of scarce for some reason. I know it sounds a bit absurd, but I can assure you that I am completely serious. I need lots of small, perfect or very nearly perfect cubes. All ideas are welcome.

Thanks,

Max

  1. if you don't need to make them, you could use sugar cubes??

  2. you might try going to some electronic stores and asking if they have any extra styrofoam they need to get rid of. then you could make your cubes with a knife and ruler.  good luck

  3. Do you have to make them?  Craft stores actually sell square beads (if you don't really mind the tiny hole) or small wooden cubes.  That's what I would try.  If you have a Home Depot or Lowes, or some kind of other builder's supply store, you could buy one of those insulation sheets (they are usually pink and come in different thicknesses).  It's huge, and if you cut it up you could make lots of small cubes.

    Here is what I mean:
