Question:

How would you go about planning a wedding...?

At a national park that is! My husband to be and I are looking in to the prospect of having a super small (20 guests maybe) ceremony at Yosemite. The pro in all of this would have to be the natural beauty that would surround us, but the con is our collective ignorance when it comes to planning a wedding there. Do you guys have any suggestions?

  1. Hi and congratulations!

Here is a link with everything you need to know from the National Park Service site.

    http://www.nps.gov/yose/planyourvisit/we...

NOTE:  Click on the gold writing that says "wedding application" and "wedding location list."  It goes right to a link.

Also, here is a company that does weddings in Yosemite:

    Good luck!

  2. first you have to contact the park to see if you need a permit, then you would go look at the spot you want the ceremony to take place. you would have to find out what they allow and don't allow in the park.

The park is a perfect place to get married because of the beauty.

    Best wish

  3. Contact the park authorities and find out what services they have available for weddings.  They might have a specific area that is always used because of the beauty, maybe a covered area for you to have a reception.

Also, from a newlywed, buy a wedding planner book.  Go to a book store and they have these wedding books that you write in when you decide things, plus helpful hints and ideas.  Like, location would be one part.  It really helped me plan my own outdoor wedding to perfection and me and my husband couldn't have been happier.
