How would you graph y=-2x+5? Identify the slope and y-intercept?

I really need help on this one...if you could explain how you did it that would be great...this is one of the last problems and I need to know it for a test.

  1. the slope is -2 over 1 because the number infront of x is always on top of 1, which means you go down 2 and over one to the right. then the y-intercept is 5


  2. the rule to find this is y=mx+c, where m is the gradient(slope) and c is the intercept point on the y axis, so -2 is the gradient and 5 is the intercept point.

  3. Start at 5 on the y axis, then go down 2, over one.

  4. slope is -2[which is -2/1 when graphing it]

    the y intercept is 5

    so you find 5 on the y axis and put a dot there

    then you go down 2 [down because its negative] and over 1 [because its rise/run]

    and either THEIR the answer is wrong or you wrote the question wrong
