How would you handle finding out your friend just had gender-reassignment surgery?

I have this friend, we'll call them "Patrick", who, I found out, just had gender-reassignment surgery. I am wondering now how to handle the situation; should I act the same as before towards him/her? How will they handle my ever-present male chauvinism now that they have switched from male to female? Should I feel challenged knowing that there is now a muscle-bound woman out there who could tie me into a pretzel? Is it too soon to ask for a date?

  2. Yes, It's too soon to ask for a date... wait til the stitches are removed...

Really Jack, you can be such a pig at times....

  3. lol hahaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa...

  4. Well, no doubt I would act the same to your friend ... we can call shim "Patrick".. (or maybe Pat is less gender specific?? ) ..... anyway, shim's a good looker and being that I'm.. well.... you know... a bet each way so they say... all I gotta do is remember to be polite enough not to tug on the stitches by mistake... we can't have all that stuff unravelling like a rescue raft...  I mean.. it will be difficult enough for shim to contain it when I doing my thang ~ I've been working out, mate!

    (((Pat))) (((Jack)))

  5. Hey, it might be fun to get tied up like a prezel

  6. I felt awkward, with my real life friend Robert, aka Tanya.

He was 6´4´´ and really nice, masculine body, with deep voice.

It changed a bit, after the hormone treatment and breast  growing , but, the miniskirts she wore, were priceless,in combination with clearly male legs and high heels.how ever, i got used to it.

I,d say, wait, till the bra size reaches  a C cup.

  7. I would probably avoid direct eye contact for a while, say a couple of months. Whenever you do come in contact with him/her just stare at his/her b*****s or pelvic region.

I would also coordinate and ambush after a night at the sports bar. Ya know, ask her up for a last bear and have all the candles lit and come out of the bedroom in a silk robe a little loose....

  8. woahbabyy!

Well, I don't think that you should treat Patrick any differently.

After all, it's still the same person on the inside.

I'm sure Patrick will still feel the same around you, and will be fond of you if you don't make it a big deal.

Don't feel challenged! Sure you'll be surprised, but I'm sure that you'll understand after good time.

Uhm.. yes, I think it is too soon to ask for a date, aha [:

  9. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! Your last comment is hilarious man! I think you're handling it pretty good.

  10. LOL, I am sure if Patrick wasn't under the influence of pain meds, he would probably fly out to CA (today) and throttle his ex-friend, Jack. From what I understand, Patrick isn't into fuzzyotterbears.

  11. ah...there's the rub, my friend. Start with flowers and sweet sentiment. Call her Pat or Patty. Do not ask what happened to the spare parts. Bide your time before asking Patty out. You may not be her type.

  12. What? NO PRETZEL TYING!

Don't expect me to nurse you back to health after the pretzel tying... no whining either!

    *arms akimbo
