it is important so children can use their creativity.

Try making projects that need a visual aid.  maybe have a drawing of the week contest where the student with the best drawing gets it hung up in the hallway and wins a prize.

many children learn best by creating, or doing.

Therefore, they learn about animals, then they get to create one out of paper.

They learn about plants, they plant one themselves to see how it grows.

Art keeps their school day enteresting, because they aren't just sitting, listening to the teacher talk. They're also able to use their hands to learn as well.

Educational games, and other activities are great ways to learn too!
