"One loves one’s Art no service seems to hard"

In your opinion, what do you think this quote meant? I got this quote while reading "A Service of Love" by O. Henry.

I said "When one is in love, she or he would do anything for the other person’s happiness even if they are not happy themselves"

  1. I think that this quote meant that if you love what you are doing, the work is easier. I don't think it had anything to do with making someone else happy.

  2. One loves one's art be it painting, writing, music or sculpture so much that no degree of work is too hard,no amount of sacrifice whether it be for instance  time spent away from family and friends  or working at a job one detests in order to obtain time and materials to do one's art is too great. One dedicates one's life to doing one's art above all else. One's satisfaction comes from doing the art.

He meant that loving Art and being an artist is a greater love and a greater sacrifice than loving another person, I think.
