I'm selling a house, which I believe will generate around 1 to 1.1000,000 $. I want to hear from seasoned investors about how you think I should invest this money. My criteria are as follows:

1- investment out side of the US, I am not an American and don't wish to invest in the US.

2- I'm not trying to multiply this money rapidly, just as long it covers the inflation and some income annually it's fine.

3- Real Estate would be OK, but in which country? I would be interested in income property. Also Arabic countries are off my list.

Your advise would be much appreciated

  1. The party is at my place.

  2. A lot depends on your age and position in life.  Are you young, and can afford to take risks, because if you lose money, you can make it up later?  Are you older, and just want to preserve what you have earned?  Married or single?  There's no one-size-fits-all answer.  Personally, I wouldn't buy property anywhere I couldn't see and manage it, so consider your own nation.  You sound like you might be a candidate for a very safe security like Bank CDs or such.  In the US, Treasury Bonds might be a good way to preserve capital.  I imagine there's an equivalent in your country.  (Don't do that if you live in some unstable country on the brink of revolution).

  3. If you have lots of other assets, then you are the level where you should consider some private equity investing. There are generally groups of Angel investors in most metro areas that review deals. Or you can invest in private venture funds who will invest the money for you. This would be appropriate to to with maybe a quarter of that money. Real estate should also be a part of your investment strategy. In any case I'd invest in areas and businesses that you know something about,

  4. Iwould go to an Edward Jones agent, and invest it in the American Fund.

  5. india is growing country.

the real estate is good option.

if you invest in rent fetching residential property in chennai the arithmetic will be as follows

for 1,000,000 $ you can buy 10 numbers 2 bhk apartments with car parking facility.

the annual rental income generated will be 36,000 $ an yield of 3.6% p.a in the same time the property value will appreciate minimum 10% p.a

if the funds are invested with a real estate promoter with sufficient security, you will get 24% p.a assured return. (no risk as investment is secured)
