How would you know if Lithium or Beryllium is more reactive?

  1. I think it's Lithium. I believe that the group I elements are the most reactive out of the metals, and from memory, sodium (a group I metal) whizzes around when placed in a dish of water while its group II equivalent, magnesium, does not.


  2. no question that Lithium is more reactive as it is  more electropositive than Be. It reacts with water violently..whereas Be must be induced to react ( much like Mg which  which it shares a family.

  3. you can have a look at the activity series or rectivity series which will reayou or you can react lithium salt solution with beryllium.if beryllium displaces lithium from its salt solution then beryllium is more reactive and if no reaction takes place then lithium is more reactive.

  4. I think it might be Beryllium as it has a higher atomic number.

    Lithium has the atomic number of 3 and Beryllium is 4!
