he would probably be more distant.  like if you two talked on the phone a lot, he would probably answer his phone less or call less often.  or he might not tell you as much as he used to.  or only respond in monosyllables.

His behavior and the little things he does or doesn’t do reflect deeper feelings. The fact that you’re asking the question means you must be instinctively feeling he’s not acting like he used to.
