  1. Martha Stewart just had someone on her show making tutus similar to your photo. I'd go to her website for the directions type in "pettiskirts" in the search menu.


  2. Here is one way: Take a rectangle of tulle twice as wide as you would need to go around you. Connect the ends by sewing a seam that will be the back seam.

    Fold a wide piece of ribbon lengthwise, iron the fold, and pin it along the bottom. Sew or glue it all around. Although it looks like they just glued a narrow piece of ribbon all around. You can do that too.

    Cut lengths of quarter inch ribbon and pin them all around at the top. Fold down the top to make a waistband. Sew your waistband  right through the ribbons. Leave an opening so you can run an elastic through. Make the elastic the exact width of the waist plus 2 inches. After you get it through, try on the tutu and pich the elastic right where you need it, to be able to get the tutu on and off. Sew the elastic ends where you pinched.

    Sew or glue your large bows onto the hanging ribbons. Done!
