How would you moor a 24ft boat to a secure pole in a lake?

We have moored a 16 ft boat to a secure pole for several summers. We have now upgraded to a larger boat. Do we need to do anything different to secure the boat for the summer?

Probably not. I have a ski nautique, and we just back it up to the shore, keeping it off the shore with an anchor with  a buoy on the end of the buoy line. This way the hull of the boat can take the waves well. Tie the back of the boat to the fixed pole.
