Does "about the station" mean who was living near the station or "related to the station"

  1. If this applies to Australia, a station is like a ranch. "About" probably means "in the area of" or "around." So "about the station" could mean "around the ranch." So "I've been teaching one of the native women who lives near the ranch."

If you post more context (like the whole paragraph,  and where it comes from) it would be easy to give a better answer.
