Question:

How would you pronounce DeSimone?

I have heard so many different pronunciations of the surname from

deh-sih-MOH'-nee to dih-SEE-mohn. I know in Italy they pronounce the last e, but the majority don't here in America. If you are a DeSimone, how do you say it and anybody that knows a DeSimone, how do they pronounce it?

Thanks for your help.

  1. Day-sih-mohn

  2. I am Italian, so you can trust me. XD

DeSimone must be spelled like this: deh-see-moh-neh.

I mean: in Italian every E is to be pronunciated like your "set", "tent". Our I sounds like your group ee in words like "heel".

the vowel O sounds like in "pot" or "wash". the consonants are read nearly like yours.

    bye!

  3. My co-workers surname name is DeSimone, spelled exactly as you have typed it; no separation between the "e" and the "S".

She and her family pronounce it, Dee-Sih-Moan; they do not pronounce the "e" at the end.
