How would you pronounce Eva?

Like Ava or like Eeva?

I'd assume it was pronounced like eeva, unless I knew she was Latina and then I would assume it would be like ayva.

I'd be more inclined to pronounce it as "EE-va", but I could see it sounding like Ava.  If someone told me that it was pronounced the latter way, I would accept it without thinking that it was weird, though if all I had was the name written down in front of me, I'd say EE-va.

I would pronounce it Eva, but Ava is also a correct pronunciation.  I also once knew a girl with this name who pronounced it "EVva," with the E sounding like "eh."  I thought about using it as a substitute for Ava because the meaning is so much better when spelled with an e.
