  1. I'd say it like Evan...I think it's a boy's name?

  2. Aven sounds like Raven:)

  3. I'd pronounce it like the others said, like Raven without the R

I'd assume it was a female.  Most are saying boys though-there is no masculinity there at all, whatever happened to strong real names like William and Michael?

  4. There is a race in Magic: The Gathering that is half bird and half human.  They are called the Aven.  They are usually white or blue creatures.

I think it is a fine name, just hope that the baby does not grow up to look like one of these creatures.

  5. I do like it. I would pronounce it Ay-ven and i would presume female. I am aussie so don't know if my accent would make a difference to the pronunciation.

The only thing is it reminds me of Avon...don't know if they have that where you are but it is a very well know cosmetics distributor

  6. Ay ven i would assume it was a girls name

  7. Like Raven with no "R" sound. I think is seems More like a boys name but could work for a girl with two first names. Aven-Marie, Aven-Rose, Aven-Jean.

  8. I would pronounce it AY-ven, and I'd assume it was a female name. Sorry if that's not the right answer.

  9. Ay-vern, nice name for a boy

  10. it could be a girls or a boy's depending on the way you pronounce it.

    Ave-en for a boy

    Av-On for a girl

    I like that name :)

  11. Ay-ven and female

  12. Aussie here too. I would say Raven with out the R also. And I wouldn't presume male or female, could work for either.

  13. (a-ven) like Raven, or Haven? I like maybe as a girl's name like the name Raven Nicole?

  14. I would pronounce it A-Ven and I assumed it was a boy name.  It's a nice name by the way.

  15. OK! Given the rules of ENGLISH i guess you could pronounce it

"E-Van" In Europe it might be "A-Van. In either case its gender is male.

  16. I would pronounce it w/a long A, like Haven without the H, and I wouldn't assume it was male or female.  It sounds unisex.

  17. I agree with the Raven w/o the R. Its very different and I like it. I also agree it could be male or female. Kind of like Avery. That used to be a boy only name and now its usually for girls. I guess you'd have to use a very feminine or masculine middle name to clarify.

    Aven Elizabeth

    Aven Connor

I really like this, where did you hear it?

  18. a-venn

it is a girl name, welsh i think. very pretty.
