  1. from 1 to 10, a 9 if you don't know Spanish, and a 10 if you do. Valenica is one of the most afforable places in Spain for vacation for what it has to offer.  Of cousre it all depends on what you want to do, what you want to see, where you stay, and method of transport.  The languages you speak are very important as well.  London is supper expensive compared to Valenica, and in valenica you have bed and breakfasts with lots of possibilities.  Plus many summer activies are free to the public.  Check out the following websites and good luck.

  2. Last Christmas I travel 3 weeks with my family to Spain. I stay a few  nights in Valencia and is definitely a place to visit. In general is less expensive than Barcelona and Madrid. Valencia is the third most populate city in Spain and is growing rapidly with extraordinary new construction. You must see the CIudad de las Artes y las Ciencias, the buildings are incredible an if you are a fan of the architecture, like me, you will be surprised by the Calatrava Imax  and others buildings of the "City", is like an Acropolis. The aquarium is also a good one and is designed by Felix Candela. A visit to the historic center is also a must especially the Market building, the bigger in Spain.

If you go on summer visit the Malvarrosa Beach, theres a metro to it.

I stay in the Sol Melia Valencia Palace (a five star) and the price was basically the same than a 3 star hotel in Barcelona. You should be aware that The Americas Cup may rise the prices in the city the next year.
