How would you rate a a cruise ship job? Pls Experienced Only.?

I'm thinking of joining a cruise ship job offer, and I am wondering what would it be like?

  1. I did it for 10 years and really loved.

    But I was never a crew member (waiters, cabin mates, deck personnel).

    Always worked as staff, reception and later at the shops.

    It´s a very cool life, even though you work a lot.

    Also the money used to be very good, but lately not only the wages were reduced a lot, but also for people that are do not live in the US the dollar does not have the same value that once did.

    Depends a lot also on the line.

    Ive worked for Carnival and it sucks big time, same goes for Costa.

    Some smaller companies are a lot better.

    Overall I think its very nice.

    they are a concession that runs shops on some 50 ships.

    The work is easy, salaries are in pounds, you usually dont work while the ship is on port cause the shops are closed and you are staff.

    Also, since its a concession, you are not tied to one cruiseline...
